Here have for sale is a 2010 Fender Classic Player Baja Telecaster finished in Blonde. The guitar is in excellent condition with very minimal playing wear which is only noticeable on the black pickguard. There are no scratches, dents or dings on the body of the guitar, the neck also shows minimal playing wear and the frets are in excellent condition. The guitar has been fitted with a fresh set of Ernie Ball Regular Slinky 10-46 gauge strings.
Designed by Fender Custom Shop Master Builder Chris Fleming, the Baja Telecaster guitar looks much like many other telecasters but when you get up close you'll see the special features including features an ash body with a thin polyester finish, soft V-shaped maple neck with 21 medium jumbo frets, custom vintage-style Broadcaster bridge pickup and custom Twisted Tele neck pickup, four-way pickup switch with S-1 switch, knurled chrome knobs and "Custom Shop Designed" neckplate. The saddles have been upgraded to brass compensated saddles for better tuning stability and intonation. The guitar comes with a Fender gig bag and case candy. The guitar weighs: 9lb 2.6oz or 4.156Kg Here are some instructions from Fender on how the S1 switch works. Classic Player Baja Telecaster The Classic Player Baja Telecaster is a specialized Telecaster model with a four-way blade switch rather than the three-way switch typically found on most Telecasters. Without engaging the S-1 switch, the first three blade switch positions deliver standard Telecaster wiring, with a special in-series fourth position that creates a thicker tone with more output. Like so: • Position one: bridge pickup only • Position two: bridge and neck pickups in parallel • Position three: neck pickup only • Position four: neck and bridge pickups in series Engaging the S-1 switch on this particular Telecaster introduces out-of-phase circuitry to blade switch positions two and four only, with positions one and three remaining unaffected. This produces a thinner and more-hollow tone of the kind often heard in, for example, funk and early electric blues. Like so: • Position one: bridge pickup only • Position two: bridge and neck pickups in parallel and out of phase • Position three: neck pickup only • Position four: neck and bridge pickups in series and out of phase |
