Fender Modern Player Starcaster Overview This Chinese made Modern Player Starcaster sports a very nice Aged Cherry Burst finish. Fender confirm that this specific guitar dates from September 2013. Weighing in at: 7lbs 14.7oz or 3.594kg. The Modern Player guitar series was the first to be made for Fender in China and was available from 2012-2018. The Starcaster model also featured Black and Natural finishes. Condition The guitar is in overall Very Good condition, there are the usual swirls and playing marks etc on the pickguard as you expect from a guitar of this age. The chrome hardware does show a few early signs of aging. The guitar features a pine body and the grain is evident through the transparent charcoal finish. The neck and fingerboard are made of maple. The frets do show some signs of wear especially on the frets near to the nut. There is however a tonne of life left in them. Modifications As far as we can tell the only modification has been the replacement of the switch tip to a Strat style one instead of a barrel switch tip.
