Fender Modern Player Telecaster Plus Overview This Chinese made Telecaster Plus sports a very nice Charcoal Transparent finish. Fender confirm that this specific guitar dates from October 2017. Weighing in at: 7lbs 14.7oz or 3.594kg. The Modern Player guitar series was the first to be made for Fender in China and was available from 2012-2018. The Telecaster Plus model also featured a Honey Burst finish. Condition The guitar is in overall Very Good condition, there are the usual swirls and playing marks etc on the pickguard as you expect from a guitar of this age. The chrome hardware does show a few early signs of aging. The guitar features a pine body and the grain is evident through the transparent charcoal finish. The neck and fingerboard are made of maple. The frets do show some signs of wear especially on the frets near to the nut. There is however a tonne of life left in them. There are issues to note on the body of the guitar: 1) There is a very tiny ding in the finish in the area under the control plate 2) On the back of the guitar on the top edge of the belly cut there is a small ding in the finish. 3) On the back of the guitar on the lower horn of the guitar there is a finish repair. None of the above issues affect the playability of the guitar and the overall appearance is hardly affected. Please study the photos carefully for further information on the condition of the guitar Modifications As far as we can tell the only modification has been the replacement of the switch tip to a Strat style one instead of a barrel switch tip.
